STREAM Schools Preparing for Next Year
According to Magnet Schools Director Drew Hirshon, leadership teams at Centennial High School, Park View Elementary School and Risley International Academy of Innovation have developed action plans for the implementation of Project Based Learning for the upcoming school year.
In addition to taking part in ongoing professional development sessions, leaders are in the process of developing a District-level steering committee to support the project- based learning instructional practice.
As a part of this work, site-based school committees will meet to review community feedback regarding potential names for the three magnet schools.
“We have also partnered with Inventionland to help us ideate innovation spaces that will be at each of our STREAM schools,” said Director Hirshon. “These state-of-the-art spaces will be outfitted with the latest technology to support creativity and design.
“These spaces will provide a location for all teachers to bring hands-on learning to their classroom. As we are going through the design process, teachers and students will get the opportunity to give feedback. The goal is to have these spaces up and running this upcoming school year.”
